Playing Catchup!

Hi! We had to take a break to recover from all of the madness in the last 4 months. Complete madness. Last post, we were putting together the crib.... since then we've been through a tramatic delivery, 5 and half weeks in the Akron Children's NICU, 3 nurse visits a month and not much sleep. But it's all starting to calm down. Neal's still not loving teaching Special Ed. and is deperately hoping for a Phys. Ed. job next school year. I finished my Masters in Elementary Education last week. FINALLY! I start student teaching after Christmas break and go straight through until April 28th. Should be interesting. For now, Neal's coaching middle school wrestling and I'm holding down the fort at home. Now that I'm at home all day, I'm getting more and more crafty! A bonus for our bank account and my sanity. Here's a quick photo catchup of where we've been since July....

She's gained 1lb... I've gained 10!

I grew overnight!

Bird Legs...

We can't wait to kiss those little cheeks!

She's finally looks like a mini-human! 1lb 5oz, we've reached a major mile marker, she's big enough to survive if she decides to come early but I'd like to keep her in there a little longer. I'm growing very fond of taking her everywhere with me. Daddy and Ella speak a special language to each other that I don't understand, but I guess that will just be one of their many little things to have just for them. She's on a somewhat regular sleep schedule, as in she sleeps when I'm awake, and wakes up when it's time for me to sleep. She kicks constantly and the ultrasound tech said she already has long legs. Poor thing. She was doomed either way between Neal and my legs. Her closet is filling with cute pink outfits and seeing her princess pink room every morning makes us more and more excited. Time to start buying the essentials... stroller, car seat, pack n'play... she isn't going to be cheap thats for sure!

We're growing!

12 Weeks
16 Weeks
20 Weeks
Here they are - finally some pictures of me! I feel like I'm growing so fast, these pictures are outdated as soon as I post them. According to my weekly e-mail updates, I should be gaining one pound a week until she's here. That's 18 more pounds to go! On another note, Ella Anne's chic princess room is coming along. I'll post pictures of that as soon as we get a few more things done.
We have another appointment on June 9th, that might be the last ultrasound for awhile. She'll be here in 4 1/2 months!

16 Weeks!

Sorry for the delay! We have been so busy lately. I'm finally posting a picture from our 16 week appointment. The BIG appointment we thought we would get to see the sex of the baby... but no such luck. He/She sat with crossed legs while we tried for 25 minutes to get a peek. We go back May 17th for our 20 week appointment to try again., in the mean time we have been preparing the house! The baby room is cleared out and ready to get a fresh coat of paint. A chore Neal is not so excited about! 20 week pictures coming soon!

12 week update!

Today was the without a doubt one of the best days of both of our lives! I can't help but think constantly about how blessed we are and how perfect "Our Life Together" is. I have to admit I was a little nervous about today's appointment, the 12 week mark is such a milestone. At the beginning of the ultrasound Baby Nutter was fast asleep and all we could see was the back of the head, the spine and the butt. He/She couldn't care less that we were there for him/her to put on a show. After a few minutes of the ultrasound tech looking around and taking measurements of his/her head Neal and I tried talking to him/her and as soon as I started laughing, the baby was wide awake! He/She rolled over, stared at the camera, then rolled right back over and went back to sleep. (Already has an attitude!) Thankfully, a few seconds later he/she was there for the party... flipping around, kicking and waving those little arms. Maybe one or two tears from me but his/her show got a lot of laughs from both of us.

The first picture is the mean stare we got for giving a wake up call. The second is my very favorite, the bottoms of 2 tiny feet. And the third picture is a side profile of the whole body, a whole 3 inches long. The doctor said everything looked great today, 2 arms, 2 legs, little fingers and little toes! We also got to see his/her brain and fast beating heart, 166 bpm.

As for us, we couldn't be happier! The morning sickness is gone, my pants won't be buttoning again until about November, and my hormones remind Neal daily that I can go from sweet to angry at any moment. Next ultrasound isn't until May... after that appointment, I won't have to say "he/she" anymore, it will either be Jack or Ella. I still think Ella and Neal insists it will be a Jack, we'll see!
